James Ole Seriani, the head of Operation Linda Boni, has dismissed claims of an attack against the General Service Unit camp at Mukowe in Lamu County.
Ole Seriani says the GSU officers fired randomly as a precautionary measure after hearing some suspicious movements.
The GSU boss’ statement contradicts that of the locals, who claimed that there was a fierce exchange of gunfire that lasted for several minutes.
Preliminary findings indicate that the officers manning the camp heard some suspicious movements around the camp prompting them to fire randomly.
