The members also want party officials who have declared interest in elective seats in next year’s elections to resign.

The members state that for interest of conflict issues to be addressed, officials intending to vie for elective seats have to resign.

Led by Kitui East Member of Parliament (MP) Mutua Muluvi the members want Kalonzo to order resignation of party officials intending to vie for seats.

“We cannot be assured of fair and transparent nominations if some party officials still hold their positions and yet they have declared interest in elective seats,” he said during a press briefing with journalists at Parliament Buildings in Nairobi on Tuesday.

The MP asked party chairman David Musila to quit his position since he has declared interest in Kitui gubernatorial seat.

A section of MCAs also want Kalonzo to guarantee them fair nominations.

They claim that some people are already lobbying to be favored in nominations.

On Monday, Wiper Party Secretary General Hassan Omar said that the party is working on structures that will see fair and transparent nominations.
