The Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS) has expressed concern, over the escalating insecurity in Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, West Pokot, Samburu and Turkana counties.
Secretary general Abbas Gullet said the Society stopped offering relief services in the regions, after arnmed attackers looted from his staff, when they were on transit to distribute foodstuffs and other amenities to the affected families.
Gullet called for an immediate national intervention, saying there could be more hidden agendas, over the cases.
According to him, bandits attacing residents are more likely to be politically instigated.
He said cattle rustling has been a threat in the region, but papertrators usually steal animals and leave without killing people, in most cases.
"There's more than cattle rustling in this matter. Why are the attackers killing women and innocent kids? Why are they looting from the Kenya Red Cross? This has never happened in Kenya before. This is likely political instigated,'' Gullet said during an interview on NTV, Sunday.
He noted KRSC will no-longer distribute relief services in the regions unless they are assured of their security.
