Former Ombudsman chairman could likely become the next Rarieda Member of Parliament, after the August 8, elections.

Paul Otiende Amollo successfully clinched the ODM party ticket, during the nominations held in Siaya county, Tuesday April 25.

He could possibly succeed incumbent are MP Eng Nicholas Gumbo, who sought to oust governor Cornel Rasanga, but lost the ticket.

Rasanga who was declared the winner, Wednesday morning by the county Returning Officer, will be defending his seat come August, general election.

He garnered 143,446 votes against Gumbo's who got 87,457 votes. The National Assembly Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman has now been left in the cold.
