After losing in the controversial ODM nominations in April and subsequent August 8 contest to Siaya Governor Cornel Rasanga, former Rarieda MP Nicholas Gumbo who had decamped from the Raila Odinga-led party has made a u-turn to rejoin the outfit.

While urging his supporters to support Raila in his presidential bid, Gumbo who served as Public Accounts Committee Chairman in the National Assembly in the last parliament, noted that that the Supreme Court decision that annulled President Uhuru Kenyatta's win is Raila's only political lifeline.

"Twice he has been subjected to demeaning insults, sometimes being called unprintable names," Gumbo said in a message to his supporters as quoted by the Star.

According to Gumbo who served Rarieda for two terms, Raila has been robbed of his victory three times before and that it's high time Kenyans stood with him to realise his presidential dream.

But even though he has made peace with the former prime minister, Gumbo maintains that he will pursue his petition seeking for the annulment of Rasanga's re-election to its conclusion.
