Speaking during an interview, the Council’s Chairman James Matundura expressed their desire to further the administrative and leadership skills not only at the county level, but also nationally and as an exemplary display to their counterparts from other counties.

Chairman Matundura said that they enrolled their classes in February this year and they are progressing well with their studies.

“Most of our members are retirees who had big positions in government and we did this to upgrade our leadership skills,” noted Matundura while pointing out that they have basically registered for Peace and Conflict Management Course in the Kisii University.

He said that they are studying in part time basis and they have a spacious hall within their office premises where they are taking their classes every two days in a week adding that they are tremendously enjoying their lectures.

Chairman Matundura further disclosed that they were 35 members enrolled for the degree course initially and also urged others from the Council to join stating that there is no restriction to any willing member.
