A section of elders from Kisii and Nyamira counties respectively has now joined forces to push Jubilee government to offer an extra cabinet secretary slot on top of the current one held by Education CS Dr Fred Matiang'i.
Led by Abagusii Council of Elders chairman Araka Matundura the elders said the region deserves to be well represented in the national government as the region voted overwhelmingly for the current regime.
"We as Abagusii Council of Elders we call upon president Uhuru Kenyatta to give a surety that we will get an extra cabinet slot," said Araka.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto are expected to face tough times in selecting their cabinet as each region is eyeing for the posts as well as loyalists.
