Jubilee Party will not give direct tickets to individuals during nominations in Kisii County, party officials have warned.
County party officials Samuel Nyairo (Chairman) and Samwel Nyangeso (Secretary General) separately said any candidate vying for seats in the party will have to go through a due process.
“There is nothing like free tickets and we want to dispel rumours to the effect. We want the exercise to be as free and fair as possible,” Nyairo said.
He said they are currently concentrating on putting structures in place and before they roll out a series of campaigns across the region to popularize the party.
On his part, Nyangeso told off certain political leaders that have already begun canvassing for free tickets ahead of the primaries.
“I want to be clear on this that no free tickets will be dangled free to any of them. We have a duty to ensure only popular candidates get the ticket,” he said adding that the exercise must pass credibility test.
“Every candidate must be tested to ensure the party gets credible candidates for the polls,” Nyangeso said.
He was speaking on Wednesday at a function in Kisii.
The former Kisii Mayor further challenged Kisii County Governor James Ongwae to fast track the construction of the stadium which has been stalling for a while now.
He also called on the County leadership to come to the aid of struggling Shabana Football Club which facing serious financial challenges.
