Leaders from Kisii County have asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to add another Omugusii to his cabinet since the region is normally represented by at least two cabinet Secretaries at one time.

Speaking on Tuesday in his Nyaribari Masaba Constituency during an education stakeholders meeting, area MP Ezekiel Machogu said that they overwhelmingly supported the candidature of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.

“Kisiis have always been represented in the Cabinet by at least two people and therefore we are asking the President as he continues with his selection he should remember us and select another person,” Machogu said as quoted on Radio Citizen.

He said that they were not demanding for the slots but they voted for the Jubilee government and as such they should be remembered.

“As the Kisii community we overwhelmingly voted him in and therefore he should add as another position as it has always been the case,” Machogu added.

Machogu’s sentiments were echoed by Nyamira County KNUT Chairman Albert Onkoba who was also present at the event and asked the President to reconsider taking Matiang’i back to the Education Ministry to continue with the work he had started.
