A section of leaders from the Gusii region have promised to deliver over 70 per cent of votes in the region to Jubilee in the fresh presidential election.

Dr James Gesami who vied for Nyamira gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate joined Jubilee on Thursday and pledged to mobilise Nyamira residents to vote for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Mr. Gesami who is also a former West Mugirango Member of Parliament, said together with other leaders from Nyamira,  they will launch massive campaign to ensure the president gets over 70 per cent votes in the county.

President Kenyatta garnered 106,894 votes (52.07%) in Nyamira in the August 8 election.

Led by North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, the leaders assured President Kenyatta that Nyamira residents will give him more votes on the October 26 than they did on August 8.

“Nyamira people have rejected the lies peddled by the opposition. They have now made up their mind and they will ensure you win the coming fresh election with an even wider margin,” said Dr. Gesami.

“As leaders of Nyamira we have agreed to lead our people to where they can get development. We will not accept to be misled to ruin our good country through unnecessary demonstrations,” said the Nyamira leaders.
