Kisii County women representative Janet Ong’era said the leaders from the region will not condone corruption in the country.

She said leaders and common citizens found engaging in corruption should be sent to jail.

“Uhuru should be sure of the Gusii leaders’ support in the fight against corruption. Public funds should be used to funds projects across the country and not for personal use to enrich individuals in this country,” she noted.

Ong’era called on the Judiciary not to release corruption suspects on bond until their cases are heard and determined.

"The judiciary under the leadership of Justice David Maraga should detain the latest NYS suspects in custody until their cases are heard and determined. If the suspects will be released on bond they are likely to interfere with witnesses or skip court proceedings,” she noted.

The ODM MP lauded DPP Noordin Haji for his efforts to ensure corruption comes to an end saying MPs will be supportive to his office to ensure politicians and other cartels intending to steal public money are dealt with accordingly.

Ong’era was speaking on Friday during the Madaraka day celebrations at Itiero primary school grounds in Bonchari sub County, Kisii County.
