The Gusii community leaders on Saturday urged president Kenyatta to ensure that the government officers observe the rule of law to the latter.
The leaders led by Kisii senator, Prof. Sam Ongeri, called on the government to uphold the rule of law if the country is to move forward.
Speaking during a fundraiser at SDA church in Namakoba, the leaders also expressed the significance of obeying the law in maintaining peace in the country.
"We must follow the rule of law just as, if we don't follow the commandments of God we can never go to heaven, similarly if we don't obey the rule of law we will have no peace, so am only requesting that in order to bring God's blessings in abundance can we please also obey the laws," urged Prof. Sam Ongeri.
Another female leader present at the function faulted the ministry of interior on the Miguna issue.
She then asked the government through the interior ministry to respect the law.
"I want to plead with the government of Kenya to know that Miguna Miguna is a son of Kenya, Miguna Miguna is a son of this soil and should treat him with dignity and respect. I ask the government particularly the ministry of interior to respect the rule of law," she said.
