Gusii Mwalimu Sacco has re-branded its loans applications system to offer its members convenient and professional services.
The Sacco's Chief Executive Officer, Charles Omwansa, told this writer in his office that the management has re-organised loan application procedures to ensure members process and access their loans within the shortest time possible. This is to avert being subjected to several procedures before their loans are approved.
Omwansa disclosed that the management has introduced a one-stop Customer Information Centre (CIC) where all loan application forms are submitted and processed within the shortest time possible and have the loans applications approved immediately without delay.
"All loan processes have been shifted from the Front Office Services Activities (FOSA) to the CIC where all loan application forms are submitted and approved instantly," clarified Omwansa.
The CEO disclosed that the new system has reduced the workload reported among the Sacco employees who handled the loans application and processing section.
"Instead of a member moving from one office to the other pursuing a loan application process, it is now convenient and timely since all loans application processes have been centralised for prompt processing," stated Omwansa.
He clarified that unlike in the past, currently, any amount above one million shillings given out as a loan cannot be approved by the loans officers but the board of directors.
He said this is because it translates to a financial risk to the Sacco and it is the top management that will be held accountable over any risk from such loan.
