Gusii politicians have been warned of 'dire' consequences by the police should they be found culpable of hate speech.

Kisii Deputy County Commissioner Peter Mbugi also said police officers will give enough security to all political rallies across the county.

Mbugu further urged local stop shun from embracing divisive politicians whom he termed as 'threat' to local security.

“As the security agents in Kisii County, we will not allow politicians to make incitement remarks which will cause divisions among locals," he said.

“We will ensure that whoever incites locals against their colleagues is dealt with in line with the law," he added.

Mr. Mbugi who was speaking on Wednesday at Nyanturago in Nyaribari Masaba during the meeting of disabled persons which was organized by the ministry of Gender and other stakeholders.
