A section of Kisii residents have want Dagoretti North MP, Simba Arati to be given the role of the Abagusii spokesperson.
This comes barely a day after the Abagusii council of elders gave a statement opposing the plans of having Mr Arati as their spokesperson.
They said, Mr Arati was not best suited for the position as he does not understand the community's culture.
"For years the community has suffered because of the poor leadership we have witnessed amd having Mr Arati as our spokesperson will be the best solution," said Beavon Magera, a youth.
According to him, the whole community had agreed that its only Mr Arati who has the capabilities of championing for their rights.
As a community, we have embraced the idea and we know Arati will articulate issues affecting the community at National level.
Zablon Nyangena, an elder said that they will treat anyone opposed to the idea as an enemy of the community.
"The only person we feel can articulate our plight and unify the community is Arati," he said.
The group also warned a section of youths who vowed to disrupt the rally scheduled for today at Gusii Stadium.
