Gusii Water and Sewerage Company (GWASCO) have appealed to the town residents to be patient as they try to address water shortage that has hit the town.

According to GWASCO director Mr Zachariah Moguche, they are working towards ensuring that the water pipes that had problems are being repaired and that is expected to take less than a week.

“Our technical crew from the the department is working round the clock to rectify the situation. We have mobilised all our resources to ensure that all the pipes are replaced,” said Moguche

Addressing the press in his office on Thursday, Moguche said that the company was aware of the problem and was doing ‘everything humanly possible’ to fix it.

He further said the company is trying to work on creating additional manhole units at closer intervals to ensure that it takes a shorter time to clear debris and blockages.

This follows concern by the residents that have gone several weeks without in both residential area and hotels hence that might lead to an outbreak of diseases.
