Kisii County has set up measures which will help to end sewers problems in the town and its environs by installing news pipes.
According to Osborn Nanga technical Manager at GWASCO, the main cause of the brokerage of sewers and water pipes is because they have been outdated and need replacement.
Nanga said that they have set up measures of installing good pipes which will help to curb the menace which comes as a result of poor piping.
“We have set measures of installing new pipes which will help end the sewers and water problems within the county,” said Nanga.
He added, that they already have the pipes in place what remains is installing them as he hopes that the challenge of sewers will be addressed once and for all.
In addition, he urged residents to stop the habit of vandalising pipes which he also attributed as a reason for the poor sewerage system in the county.
“As we have set measures we urge our residents to stop the habit of vandalising pipes which has been a challenge more so when it rains,” added Nanga.
He also added that as the county they have identified a place where they can use as to generate electricity which will help them to pump water.
“We have identified a place called Nyakwana which will help us to generate some Megawatts which will aid in pumping water,” said Nanga.
