Zachariah Moguche, GWASCO director said residents should prepare themselves well ahead of the rationing.
Moguche said prolonged dry spell has led to a decrease in water levels at the Kegati main station.
“Pumping of water at Kegati main station has gone down from 6,000 cubic meters of water per day to 5,000 cubic meters. We are unable to produce enough water due to the prolonged dry spell,” he said.
He added that GWASCO engineers are working very hard to ensure the company produces enough water to serve all residents.
“Plans are ongoing to boost the production of water to serve the residents of Kisii County. By the end of this year, we are hoping that GWASCO will be producing 27 million liters of water per day for water shortage to be a past tense,” he noted.
