Christmas is around the corner. We all are excited that finally the year is coming to an end. Around this time people tend to get merry and get loose, as they celebrate. However, there are habits that have been there in past years and need to stop this festive season.Last minute travelling. Most people don’t travel early enough, such that on 24 December bus stops and matatu stages are flooded. Life would be much easier if people travelled earlier, where possible. I think this will highly decrease chances of bus fare hiking during Christmas period.

Last minute shopping. Make a shopping list early enough and go shop before the 20th date of the month. For the past seasons, you find that queues in the supermarkets are so long that it may take you almost an hour before you are served.

Overspending. It has become a cliché now that after the festive season people become chronically broke. Make this season a different one. Spend only to your limits. The world isn’t ending brother!

Don’t drink excessively. Most people take the celebrations too far. In 2017, let us not drink to the point of sleeping in ditches and beside the roads, and shouting loud into the night.
