Kenyans have been urged to apply for NHIF cards which will cater for their medical expenses.
According to NHIF Cooperate Services Director Diana Korir, almost half of Kenyans have not applied for the medical scheme.
"Having the NHIF card is crucial since you will have quality health services at our accredited hospitals country wide at a very low cost," she said.
Speaking during the NHIF consultative stakeholders meeting on Monday, Korir said they have improved their services by increasing their funding.
She urged Kenyans to apply for the NHIF card since they will enjoy health services at a very low cost. She added that they have now separated chronic disease from the common diseases.
"We have identified cancer, diabetes, dialysis and hypertension as chronic diseases which will receive more funding," she said.
