Two of opposition chief Raila Odinga's close allies have landed jobs in President Uhuru Kenyatta's new appointments.
Uhuru is a gazette notice on Wednesday appointed Raila's former aide Caroli Omondi to the National Oil Corporation of Kenya board as a member.
Omondi is among men who have worked closer to Raila for years and the last time he worked for the former Langata MP is when he served as Chief of Staff when Raila was prime minister during the grand coalition government. He joined active politics in the run-up to the August 8 general election.
Another close ally to Raila who landed a job is Public Policy Expert Dr Washington MacOdingo who got appointed to the Kenya Investment Authority board as a member.
The controversial policy expert will be remembered for his December 14, 2017 decision to draft a Bill seeking for the creation of a new county called Kuria. He proposes that Migori County where Kuria presently fall is too large and should be divided.
Omondo and MacOdingo are key opposition politics architects and their appointments signify that the Uhuru-Raila union and their quest to work together and unite the country has begun to bear fruit.
Raila was Uhuru's main rival during the August 8 general election which Uhuru controversially won. His re-election was quashed by the Supreme Court.
