Nairobi City Governor-elect Mike Mbuvi Sonko has begun a clean up exercise that will cover the entire county.
The operation dubbed Operation Ng’arisha Jiji entred its second day on Wednesday.
Sonko said through his social platforms that he will stay true to his campaign promise of “getting rid of the stench that has plagued our city for a long time.”
He stated that his mission is to completely transform and restore Nairobi’s “once glorious image.”
To have this effected, the governor-elect ordered for the dispatch of more than 50 trucks to aid the process come to a success.
Through the Operation Ng’arisha Jiji, Sonko said; sewers will be unblocked, campaign posters will be removed, garbage mounds will be cleared, besides ensuring responsible garbage disposal is done.
Sonko said he will continue with the efforts “until Nairobi is declared the cleanest city in Africa.”
