Embattled Harambee Stars defender Aboud Omar has said he will lodge a formal complaint before World Football Governing body (FIFA) against his former employer Slavia Sofia following his sacking.
The Bulgarian side dismissed the former Bandari and Tusker FC back liner a week ago over claims that he insulted teammates and coaches at the club using derogative Bulgarian phrases.
However, the 25 year-old right back dismissed the claims as untrue maintaining that he was being victimized by the club after he refused to renew his contract which was drawing to a close.
Speaking to BBC on Friday, Omar accused the club's president Ventseslav Stefanov of lying over the whole issue.
"I'm ready to go to FIFA or the courts because Stefanov said some things that are not true. The president is never in the dressing room most of the time, so I don't know where he got all these information from," Omar said.
'"I am the one who walked out even before they made their statement. I told them I didn't want anything. Money or anything, I just wanted to be free," he added.
Omar maintained that what was construed by the club as racist remarks were in fact barbs that they would occasionally trade with his Bulgarian teammates whom he said also made similar jest on him.
"When other players used racist language with it was "just joking" but when it was the other way round they took it personal," Omar said.
