National football team Harambee Stars has registered an improvement in the latest FIFA rankings.Stars moved a place up in the latest rankings released by FIFA on Thursday.Kenya was ranked position 105 globally, up from 106 and 25th on the continent.Uganda ranked better regionally, despite performing dismally during the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) Senior Challenge Cup champions last month.They moved two places up to 73rd globally and 16th in the continent, making them the highest ranked country in the region, with Kenya trailing them in the second place.Tunisia was ranked first in the continent, deposing Senegal at the top, as Democratic Republic of Congo, Morocco, and Egypt made it to the top five.The Black Stars of Ghana, who Harambee Stars will face in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier were ranked 8th in the continent and 50th globally.2014 World Cup champions Germany maintained their top spot in the world, with Brazil ranking second.Portugal, Argentina, and Belgium also made it to the top five.Kenya's improvement in the rankings has been attributed to their terrific form in the Cecafa tournament hosted in the country in December.
