With the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup set to kick off this week, the Harambee Stars bench is putting the final touches to the team that will represent the country.

The team has called up Zoo Kericho defender Isaac Kipyegon, who will cover up for center-half Harun Shakava.

Kipyegon’s teammate Nicholas Kipkirui has also been called up to the squad, to help in firing the team to victory.

Shakava, Gor Mahia’s most dependable defender will miss out with a groin injury, meaning the team will be light at the backline.

According to assistant coach Stanley Okumbi, the team will be ready for the tournament that will be held in the country.

“I understand Shakava will be out of Cecafa this year but I can’t talk much on that. As you know I am now the deputy coach hence I am not in a position to give full details about him Okumbi,” said Okumbi as quoted by Citizen.
