Kenya Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks have been handed a major boost after Harambee Stars midfield maestro Pattilah Omoto extended his stay at the club.

Omotto joined his other five teammates in signing new long-term deals on Tuesday that will see them cement their positions at the Nairobi based side which emerged third in the Kenya Premier League campaign last season.

The club has however lost its talismanic striker Masoud Juma who recently moved to South Africa side Cape Town City FC and there were growing concerns that the diminutive playmaker was also on his way out of the team.

However, that was not to be as Sharks chairman Robert Maoga revealed that the quintet had indeed inked new deals.

"The five, Patillah Omotto, Christopher Kimathi, Geoffrey Shiveka, Hillary Dan, and Eric Juma have been great servants of the team giving their all when called upon.Having walked with the team for this long and with the experience, the contract renewal signals their confidence they have with the team. It's truly an exciting time to see this happen and maintaining the FAMILY UNIT that we have always been,"Maoga told the club's website.

Sharks will open their 2018 campaign against surprise package Nzoia Sugar on February 3 away.
