Harambee Stars striker Edwin Lavatsa has revealed the reason behind his early exit from Coast-based Bandari FC after just one season.
Lavatsa who was on Tuesday unveiled by Tusker ahead of the 2018 season which is only one week away said that his failure to earn a call-up by the national team prompted him to jump ship following a dismal performance by the Dockers in the previous season.
"In the position that we finished (with Bandari) last season, it was not easy to be called to the national team. That is why I decided to join Tusker," he said.
The Dockers finished a distant tenth in the league campaign and despite the former Gor Mahia man bagging seven goals he still failed to earn any call-up during the recently held Cecafa Senior Challenge tournament.
However, the lanky striker now believes that with a move to the 2016 champions, Stars head coach Paul Put will consider him for the upcoming assignments that also involve the Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualification campaign that resumes later in the year.
Tusker finished sixth in their previous campaign and have brought on board several other players including Timothy Otieno formerly of Tusker and Peter Nzuki of Nakumatt among others.
