FKF president Nick Mwendwa with Harambee Stars players during the Cecafa senior challenge.(Photo/Soka.co.ke)National soccer side Harambee Stars are expected to spend some considerable time in Europe playing friendlies as they prepare for their African Cup of Nations (Afcon) crunch tie against African giants Black Stars of Ghana in September,2018.According to Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa,the two week visit to Europe could be done in March in order to enable the team have sufficient time to train for the upcoming fixtures.Mwendwa further added that the team will play several friendly matches as has been requested by head coach Paul Put."We are planning to have our team camp in Europe for about a month or at least two weeks preferrably in March when our foreign based players will be available.We are also planning the team to have friendly matches there for the new coach to be able to bond the local guys and the foreign ones and assemble a strong team," Mwendwa said during a luncheon organized for the team in a Nairobi Hotel on Monday.Stars recently won the Cecafa senior challenge tournament and will be hoping to build from the feat to mount a strong challenge for the continental bonanza where they are grouped alongside Ghana,Sierra Leone and neighbours Ethiopia.
