National Super League (NSL) side KCB have acquired the services of Harambee Stars under-20 head coach John Kamau ahead of the 2018 season.
Kamau takes over from Leonard Saleh who was sent packing by the Bankers at the tail end of the 2017 season owing to poor results.
The former Thika United and current U-20 brings a welath of experience to the former Kenua Premier League side having coached Talanta FC aside from sitting at the national soccer team Harambee Stars technical team.
Kamau also aided the Communcations Authority of Kenya (CAK) funded side to avoid relegation after finishing fifteenth with 38 points.
Thika had a successful run in the 2017 NSL campaign finishing fourth behind eventual winners Vihiga United,Wazito FC and Ushuru although missing out on a return to the Kenyan top flight league had continued to haunt them.
The team will also be hoping to make some more quality signings to help them in their new campaign and Kamau is largely expected to oversee such an exercise.
However with the exit of the three giants from the second-tier league the team remains in pole position to secure a return to the KPL league which they exited two years ago.
