Nyamira county minister for water Samuel Michael said residents should store the rain water for use during the dry spell.

“Nyamira residents should consider harvesting and storing rain water in tanks so that they can use the same water during the dry spell when water sources will dry up,” he said.

He challenged Governor John Nyagarama and his deputy Amos Nyaribo to ensure locals are issued with water tanks which they will use to store water.

"Nyagarama should supply free water tanks to locals to use in storing rain water for use because traders selling the water tanks have hiked prices making it hard for the poor residents to buy the tanks,” he saidd.
