Opposition chief Raila Odinga should never forget that there are people who died in his defence after the August 8 general election, an activist has said.
Former Starehe MP contender Boniface Mwangi said on Friday the former prime minister is busy engaging in a 'handshaking bonanza' forgetting there are people who need justice because of the trouble that was inflicted on them during and after the August poll.
Raila has for the last more than one month been on a jamboree meeting high ranking politicians in the country after losing his quest to ascend to State House during the election that was characterized by high voltage campaign.
So far the former prime minister has met President Uhuru Kenyatta and former presidents Daniel Arap Moi and Mwai Kibaki.
He has also met and held talks with former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and Gatundu South and Uhuru's close ally Moses Kuria.
The handshakes have elicited mixed reactions especially in Rift Valley as residents in the vote rich region speculate on their implications especially to the quest by Deputy President William Ruto to succeed Uhuru as Kenya's fifth commander in chief.
"All thess handshakes are meaningless to the masses who believed in him. If the people who died, got wounded and lost property protesting on his behalf do not get justice, Raila will retire as a sellout," Mwangi said.
Over 50 people died during the Post Election Violence that broke out after the August 8 election and before the repeat poll on October 26. Most killings occurred in Nyanza, Raila's political backyard.
