Raila Odinga, the NASA leader leader.(Photo/the-star)Sitting on this pedestal of foresight, I look at comrade Raila Odinga with the glasses of sympathy. Sympathetic because, in him, I see the tragedy of a nation losing his political clout in the altar of politics.
I see a man who has been beaten hands down, not just in the battle, but also in the war as a whole. From henceforth, it will be down the drain for the NASA leader. Jubilee Party will be in a hurry to flush the drainage furiously to send him down fast. The only recourse for Raila is to head to Bondo to eat groundnuts with his grandchildren. His is a mission unaccomplished. The reknown political pundit Mutahi Ng'unyi of the Fort Hall School of Government avers that Raila Odinga is a political coward in comparison to his great father Jaramogi. Jaramogi had the heart of a Lion. But as Chinua Achebe aptly puts it, living fire begets cold, impotent ash. Raila's ash is cold to the touch. So cold that it can send chill into a man's heart.
