Nyamira senator Kennedy Mong'are launched his 2017 presidential bid, Tuesday.
He was elected on a Ford Kenya party ticket in 2013 general polls.
For a while now, Okong'o has been perceived as a Jubilee mole by Cord members, given that Ford Kenya is under the Cord coalition.
He was dewhipped as the Senate Public Accounts Committee chair in February, moments after members elected him, on grounds that he was working for Jubilee.
Even though its party leader Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula launched his 2017 presidential bid, Mong'are seems not to care.
This is a 'betrayal' to Wetangula. He expects total support from his supporters ahead of the polls.
It is however clear the Senate Majority Leader can not give Mong'are a chance to stand through his party ticket.
The ball now lies in Mong'are's court, on what next for his political career for 'exiting' Weta's party.
