Criminal cases in Uasin Gishu have reduced drastically in the last three months.
County Commissioner Abdi Hasan said this was due to good relationships between the police and the public who have been giving them tip-offs.
“A total 336 were reported in the last three months. In September, October and November 149,105 and 82 cases were reported respectively out we have arrested and charged 100 suspects,” he said in Eldoret town, Thursday.
“77 were for assault, 53 stealing while the rest was obtaining property through false pretense. We will work round to ensure that there are no criminals in the county and we will deal with them ruthlessly until they either reform or face the bullet,” he added.
He, however, urged residents to embrace Nyumba Kumi initiative by knowing the whereabouts of their neighbors.
“In case you find one with suspicious characters report him or her to the nearest police station and we promise to take stern actions him or her since security begins with you,” noted Hassan.
