Bodaboda operators still operating past 11pm in Uasin Gishu County risk arrest for defying the existing ban, county commissioner Abdi Hassan has warned.
Speaking during the Mashujaa Day celebrations, Hassan said that the ban on bodabodas operating at night in Uasin Gishu County was still on and those found breaking operating in the contrary would be apprehended.
"Bodabodas are not allowed to operate from 11pm to 5am in the morning. Anyone who will be found going against the ban will be regarded as a criminal and arrested," he warned.
He reiterated that the reason that behind the ban was the increase in insecurity cases that involved bodaboda operators at night where lives were lost.
"We were recieving many cases of gangsters using bodabodas to commit crimes making people to lose property while other were killed. Bodaboda operators were being used to ferry the thugs after they have committed their crimes, as such any bodaboda operator found past 11pm will be regarded as a criminal," he said.
