Former Wiper secretary general Hassan Omar has launched a scathing attack on Siaya Senator James Orengo.Omar claimed that NASA leader Raila Odinga was only using Orengo for his own political gain.Addressing journalists after casting his vote on Thursday at Makadara polling station, Omar said Raila once blocked Orengo, who is NASA’s lawyer from joining parliament when he ran against him in 1997.“Poor guy is only running from one court to another. He was massacred when he tried to run against Raila and he trooped back by becoming a court clerk. If you are arrested he becomes a pro bono,” said Omar, as quoted by Baraka FM.

He further hit out at NASA supporters for referring to Raila as ‘baba’, and accused them of being violent.

"Why are you throwing stones? Why are you calling someone baba?” asked Omar.

The former Mombasa Senator pleaded with residents in the county to vote for development oriented leaders.

He dismissed claims that the low voter turnout in the county was as a result of NASA election boycott calls, arguing that Mombasa generally experiences low voter turnout.

Omar ditched Wiper for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Jubilee party after losing the governor race to ODM deputy leader Hassan Joho.
