Speaking on Wednesday in Gilgil during a pastors’ fellowship breakfast meeting, Kinuthia said Kenya is likely to plunge into political upheaval if hate monger are left free.

“Freedom of speech does not mean freedom of spreading information that might divide Kenyans and put the whole nation into chaos. All Kenyans should follow the law despite who they are as no one is above the law,” he said.

He also challenged the opposition to use appropriate means in addressing the issues that they feel need to be discussed.

“Opposition does not mean that you make it hard for the government to operate. It is meant to offer balance and direct the government where they feel needs to be addressed. If one is not satisfied, that is why we hold elections after every five years, so wait for your turn,” he added.

He urged the church to pray for the nation.

“The church has over the years been mandated with the responsibility to stand with the nation in good and bad times. It is therefore good for the church to continue with its work even now when the country is faced with several controversial issues in need of being addressed. Let us hold hands in prayers and stand with our nation,” Mbugua said
