Those fueling hatred through hate speech will now face it rough after Interior PS Karanja Kibicho spelled out the riot act on them.

Kibicho cautioned that the law was now narrowing down on all those involved in hate and incitement remarks as well as forming criminal gangs in readiness for the next general polls.

He warned senior politicians who may enjoy massive support and wealth that the hand of the law would deal with them regardless of their status.

"There is no one who is above law in this country. If you commit an offense, the law will take its course," Kibicho said on Saturday.

He said that politicians usually commit crimes and then drag their communities into it to appear that it is a tribe being targetted by the law.

“We will close our ears because everyone has his/her own tribe from where he was born but we will not tolerate violence in the country because of nonsense,” he said.

According to Kibicho, the government is now arming police officers with secret recording devices that will gather information from those politicians inciting citizens and propagating hate.
