Harvard University will from next year give full scholarships to two qualified students from Kenya.
The scholarship will be in honour of Kenya’s fallen scholar Calestous Juma who used to teach at the institution.
The scholarships will be given under Equity Group Foundation’s Wings to Fly programme.
Prof Juma was until his death was the faculty chair of the Innovation for Economic Development Executive Programme and director of Science, Technology and Globalisation Project at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Equity bank and its partners paid for fees and other expenses for its students who were admitted to Harvard.
In the 2017 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam results, released on December 20, nine Wings to Fly students scored straight As.
