Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has advised Machakos governor Alfred Mutua to have a firm political stand if he wants to win the trust of voters.
Speaking in Wote at ACK Boarding Primary School, Musyoka also cautioned fellow politicians against insults and party hopping.
The former vice President instead directed elected leaders to serve the common mwananchi as opposed to unnecessary party wrangles and political confrontations.
The Cord’s presidential hopeful said that a firm stand is a political virtue a statement that was directed at his political for Govenor Mutua.
Kalonzo said, “Politicians commit political sins by deserting their own political parties and jumping to other parties on whose ticket they were not elected on. One virtue of true leadership is having a firm political stand.”
This comes after Wiper lost key leaders to Jubilee and what Senator Muthama calls briefcase parties like Maendeleo Chap Chap.
The party is struggling with constant internal conflicts. “Please take a stand because it will save us from many ills. Doing what is right will vindicate us from the burden of blame because our subjects are also watching,” Musyoka added.
His sentiments are likely to spark another political rhetoric especially from Jubilee and pro-Mutua leaders. They will definitely defend their defections and remind Musyoka about “kupita katika yao” strategy he applied.
