Deputy president William Ruto has urged opposition leaders led by ODM party leader Raila Odinga to have faith in the electoral process citing that IEBC will conduct peaceful elections in 2017.
Speaking at Kagwampungu, South Imenti Constituency, Meru County on Sunday, Dp Ruto refuted claims by opposition Cord that Jubilee government is planning to rig elections in 2017 polls citing that Jubilee has faith in IEBC cord should has well trust in IEBC to stop misleading Kenyans.
"IEBC is a body that is protected by the law. Jubilee or Cord has no powers to work with IEBC to rig elections. The only thing to do is to conduct peaceful campaigns to win elections in 2017", said Ruto.
He said that elections dated will not be changed as claimed by Cord.
"We do not anticipate a change in the election calendar. Fears that the 2017 General Election will be delayed are unfounded. Let's have faith in the electoral process and conduct peaceful campaigns", he stated.
Ruto urged Meru County governor Peter Munya to support join Jubilee for locals to enjoy Jubilee's leadership.
"Meru county people should join Jubilee. The governor (Peter Munya) should make a step and join Jubilee ahead of the 2017 polls", he said.
