Barely two days after leaders of the Kenya Medical Practitioner and the Dentist Union were sentenced for a month-long jail term by labor and employment court Judge Hellen Wasilwa has the news of their release unconditionally emerged.
The doctors who spend just a night in the cells are a happy lot after political heavyweights in the country came to their aid.
On Wednesday morning top brass of the NASA coalition led by Senior Counsels and Siaya Senator James Orengo, Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior and Presidential aspirant Philip Murgor represented the detained doctors at the Court of Appeal.
During the hearing at the court of appeal among the notable attendees included ODM party leader Raila Odinga and a host of opposition leaders.
The scene at the court has left many questioning whether the common term 'Sponsors' which is used by most Kenyan to refer to modern day sugar mummies and daddies who finance youthful juveniles to secure a heavenly-like life on earth has also emerged in the political cycles.
The doctors were sentenced after an impasse in their talks with the government to put an end to a more than two months strike.
Kenyans have been sharing on social media under the hashtag #CourtofAppeal with many questioning whether want the opposition leaders pulled is tantamount to being a 'Sponsor'.
Could also this be one way of the opposition endearing themselves to the Kenyan doctor for the votes in 8th August election. Be the judge.
