The Nyamira County gubernatorial seat has attracted more than six candidates which the incumbent, Governor John Nyagarama says will be a walk over for him.
According to Nyagarama, having many candidates eyeing the seat is advantageous to him.
He, therefore, said he is ready for as many rivals as possible since he will win the seat again with a landslide come 2017.
"I would like to welcome as many competitors as possible since this is advantageous to me. I am sure I will win by a landslide," he added.
He at the same time challenged all aspirants to feel free to campaign in his home region.
“I welcome all aspirants to come and campaign in my home ground in search of votes," he said.
He added that if he is defeated in the Augst 2017 polls, he will retire to his home to look after his goats.
"I am ready to go home if defeated, I have goats which I will look after, but let me promise my competitors that the battle will not be easy as they think,“ he a added.
