Mombasa Health CeC Hazel Koitaba on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Kisauni MAT clinic to familiarise herself with the daily operations of the facility.
Accompanied by Dr. Fayzal Sulliman from United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Koitaba toured the facility that runs specialized Medical assisted Therapy programmes to over 750 clients recovering from drug and substance abuse.
The tour came after she made several visits to various health facilities across the county with an aim of tackling and smoothening services in the health sector.
During the visit, the CeC held a discussion with the MAT clinic staff members led by Dr. Anisa Baghazal together with the Frere Town area Ward Administrator Hellen Mueni on how best they can provide services to the clients in their journey to recovery.
She also pledged to link recovered addicts with employment opportunities.
