Former Budalangi Legislator, Ababu Namwamba joined Raila Odinga and CS Amina Mohamed, in mourning Kenyan-Born Harvard Professor Calestous Juma.Juma passed away at Boston in United States while battling cancer.Namwamba celebrated the inspiring life of the Kenyan scholar, whose genetic roots belongs to Budalangi.He said that Juma’s contribution to the human well-being were immense worldwide.Prof. Juma helped the former parliamentarian during his postgraduate studies in Washington DC.“I mourn the passing but also celebrate the inspiring life of this fine Kenyan scholar and proud son of Budalangi. His contribution to human well-being globally is immense. At a personal level, I am eternally grateful for his steadying hand during my postgraduate studies in Washington DC,” said Namwamba via a tweet on Saturday.
Until his demise, Prof Calestous Juma was a lecturer of the Practice of International Development and Faculty Chair of the Innovation for Economic Development Executive Program at Harvard Kennedy School.
The 64-year-old was an internationally recognized authority in the field of science and technology to sustainable development worldwide.
Prof. Juma was named in the list of 100 most influential Africans in 2012, 2013 and 2014 by the New African magazine
