Embattled Mochenwa Primary School head teacher now blames a local politician for claims he misappropriated Sh250,000 allocated to the institution.

Kefa Nyangaresi who had been summoned to the office of Educational office in Gesima on Wednesday denied vehemently the claims and accused former area councilor of inciting parents against his leadership.

He said the money in contention had been used to purchase text books for upper primary classes with another amount being used to support the institutions sports team that had represented the region in athletics earlier on this year at Kisii University in regional competitions.

“The records are very clear about all he has been doing is to facilitate animosity between by myself and parents,” Nyangaresi said.

He urged the Ministry of Education to carry out thorough investigations into the claim and set precedence for other institution heads facing similar hostility from parents.

“I respect the law and I know this is purely politics. The Ministry of Education should carry out investigations to set an example where local politicians are cautioned against meddling in the affairs of school management. The money was used in purchasing text books and supporting children who were participating in athletics and I am ready to account for it,” he added.

Mosigisi when contacted by this writer on phone, denied inciting area parents against the administration of the head teacher and urged him to face the authorities to clear his name.

“I don’t see the reason why he should drug me to the case. I am just like any parent and if issues are raised, he should face them and clear his name,” he said.

A section of parents had protested on Monday and demanded that the head master be sacked.
