Omoyo primary school parents may have to look for another alternative to solve the crisis between them and school head teacher John Mokogoti after he dismissed their plight as a ‘joke of the century’.

In the recent weeks, a section of parents to children from the institution accused the school head of corruption and indiscipline, besides blaming him on deteriorating performances of the institution in national exams.

On Monday, Mokogoti dismissed the mounting calls for him to seek a transfer from the institution and instead accused them of being impediments to academic excellence in the institution.

“My record has been always excellent in all institutions that I have worked but at the same time I can’t be held responsible for the recent poor performance in the institution. Parents have refused to cooperate and they should therefore desist from bothering me,” he said.

“I will go nowhere and I am here to stay. Telling me to pack and leave is a joke of the century. I have all the rights to continue serving here,” he added.

However, a section of parents continued their onslaught on the school head and asked the Ministry of Education to probe his annual expenditures.

“He doesn’t work with the committee that is appointed by us and he runs the institution as his own property. The ministry of education should come and probe him on his expenditures,” said Peter Omanga.
