Kesses sub-county director of education officer Alice  Sitienei has warned head teachers against forcing students to repeat classes due to poor performance.

She said it is against the law and anyone who will be found will face the full force of the law.

"The government through the Ministry of Education wants 100 percent transition from primary to secondary schools no matter the marks the students got," she said at Kesses Subcounty education offices, Thursday.

"Why a pupil repeat yet the government should is giving funds through the Ministry of Education and bursaries," she added.

She, however, called upon chiefs through Nyumba Kumi initiative to ensure that pupils don't miss schools.

"It is sad that some pupils miss school because they go to ride bodaboda’s and also play lotto, such students should be arrested and be brought back to school,” noted Sitienei.

She thanked Keses sub-county primary teachers for their exemplary work that made the Sub-county get 87 students who got 400 marks and above and got a mean score of 259.

Sitienei called upon the ministry of education to construct for them an education office since at the moment we are hosted on divisional offices.
