Independent Presidential candidate Japheth Kaluyu has said that the country must conduct the repeat presidential election on October 26 as planned by the IEBC.
This will be a major setback to NASA leader Raila Odinga's call for election boycott over 'President Uhuru Kenyatta's planned rigging' by use of the IEBC.
Raila recently withdrew from the race and urged Kenyans to boycott the event.
However, Thirdway Alliance leader Ekuru Aukot was first to support that elections be conducted, and the number of candidates supporting the Thursday vote has been rising.
Speaking in Ukambani, Kaluyu said Kenyans must me allowed to move on with their lives after voting.
"You cannot make progress if all you do is politic year in, year out. No election, no Kenya," he said.
"Therefore there will be an election so we move on with our lives. Let whoever wants the presidency come and sell his manifesto to citizens. And so on Thursday 26th, there must be an election," he added.
His running mate Eluid Muthiora seconded Kaluyu and urged citizens to choose them because they care for the needs of common Kenyans.
