Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto is facing a laborious undertaking in his journey to popularise his Chama Cha Mashinani party (CCM), after politicians allied to him failed to join it.
According to the Registrar of Political Parties, only seven nominated MCAs and six elected ones from Bomet decamped from the defunct URP to CCM.
Emurua Dikiir MP Johanna Ng’eno and his Kuresoi South counterpart are not on the list despite them championing for Ruto’s CCM.
Isiolo Deputy Governor Mohamed Guleid, CCM’s national chairman, is the only listed politician from outside Bomet.
Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed CCM’s capability to take over Rift Valley terming it as a village party.
